Cake

2 eggs separated         
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 c. sugar                    
1 t. baking powder
1/4 t. salt                   
1/3 c. milk
1/2 c. shortening        
1 1/2 c. blueberries
1 t. vanilla

  Beat egg whites until stiff, add about 1/4 cup sugar to keep whites stiff.  Cream shortening, add salt and vanilla to this and rest of sugar gradually.  Add unbeaten egg yolks and beat until light and creamy.  Add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk.  Fold in beaten whites.  Fold in the blueberries which have a little of the flour in the recipe shaken over them.  Turn into 8x8 greased pan.  Sprinkle lightly with granulated sugar and bake at 350 for about 50-60 min.
